Silver Oxide

Silver is appreciated for its metallic white shine, when it is immersed in silver nitrate it creates silver oxide and the metal surface undergoes color changes, obtaining a “Patina” of a “Matte Black” color that in these pieces serve to highlight in contrast to the gilding of 18k Gold.

This patina is stable and waterproof.
